UntitledSRT is taking their products tour and putting them on display for all who come to see.

The team over at SRT has announced that they will be taking all their popular models with them as they travel from coast to coast.  The party starts in Monterey, California at the American Le Mans Series race weekend at Laguna Seca Raceway.

The vehicles will be making this journey over the course of three months.  The lineup making the trip include the Dodge Challenger SRT8, Dodge Charger SRT8, Chrysler 300 SRT8, the new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.  The popular 2013 SRT Viper will only be making select appearances.

Lucky fans that attend will get the chance to gaze upon the beautiful creations as well as chat with expert drivers with a vast wealth of knowledge about the SRT cars.  This includes John “Hammer” Palazzolo, Sean Yoder, Jamie Jantz, and Rachel Miller.

No word yet on where it’s an event will take place on the east coast.  Here’s hoping one comes close-by so New York car fans can show up to drool over the amazing works of art that SRT produces.

Get to Know SRT

Street and Racing Technology, or SRT, has as rich a history as the cars it makes. The beginning of the company were in the 1950’s when Chrysler was looking to get more out of current cars. They had their engineers take a look at the engines and see what they could do to provide them with more power. The team succeeded, creating a new intake manifold system that featured long-tube intake runners. What this did was provide the means for the engines to ingest more air which then gave better performance. The name that was coined for this new system was “Ramcharger.” This was also the name that the team choose.

The next step on the history of the SRT name is in 1989. The location is the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. What happened to mark this day in auto history is that Dodge left the crowd in awestruck when the unveiling of the Viper concept car. People couldn’t get enough of the car and it’s muscle shape along with the 8.0-liter V-10 engine. With so much enthusiasm put behind it, the Viper was given the go-ahead for production just a few weeks later.

Fast forward to 2002 where Chrysler made it official that a new team was coming to give high-performance vehicles a kick in the butt. The Performance Vehicle Operations was created and along with it was the announcement of the Dodge Ram SRT10, the Dodge Neon SRT4, and the Viper SRT10. The badge that each vehicle wore was for Street and Racing Technology. In 2004, that became the new official name for the group.

Now is another time for the SRT team. With 5 vehicles under their care, they are looking to make sure that the SRT name means only the best. The Viper SRT is about to enjoy a rebirth and reclaim it’s time in the spotlight along. With the dedicated staff of engineers, it’s clear that SRT is going to continue to wow car-buyers for a long time to come.
