About a month ago, we showed off the exciting new SRT Tomahawk concept vehicle coming to Gran Turismo 6.  After a tease and finally a reveal, it is time for gamers to get a chance to try it out in game.  With the 1.20 update to the game, drivers can finally get the Tomahawk in the game and try out this beast of a concept car.

The SRT Tomahawk will be available in three versions: the Tomahawk S, Tomahawk GTR-S, and Tomahawk X.  Each one can be purchased in the game or earned by completing a Seasonal Event that expires on July 24th.

Drivers who work their way up to the biggest performer, the Tomahawk X, will be given the chance to tackle tracks with a vehicle capable of reaching 404 mph.

For Gran Turismo fans and SRT fans, this is definitely an exciting one to get.

Dodge Offers Viper Fans More Paint Options for a Unique Look

More Viper Colors - SRTDealerNY - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge

Dodge is giving Viper drivers more choices in the production of their favorite supercar.

With the 2016 model year, Dodge will now be offering matte-finish exterior paint for the Viper.  This means fans will now have more than 50 million different and unique looks to choose from.  That list is made up of more than 16,000 unique color options and more than 48,000 strip combos.  First prize goes to the person who uses a sprinkle of every color and stripe.

“The Anodized Carbon Viper was the first-ever use of this unique metallic matte exterior color by FCA and helped further the trend in automotive matte finish exteriors from the factory,” Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge and SRT brands said.  “Now, by adding 8,000 new matte finish options to our high-end, hand-built hand-painted super car, we’re continuing at the forefront of the matte paint trend by offering so many variations, colors and even a metallic finish, all of which give each ‘1 of 1’ Viper an even more unique appearance.”

These new matte finish Vipers will be available for order in July.

Dodge is certainly taking steps to constantly make the Viper experience one of the most unique for drivers.  The amount of options and varieties in look means that no matter how many Vipers are on the road, it can still be a special little snowflake in the crowd.

See a Tour of the Dodge Viper Production Plant

Have you ever wondered how a Dodge Viper is made?

USA Today was given a tour of the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant by FCA US.  It is at this plant where the Viper gets hand-built by plant workers.  What they noticed is that the feeling and the atmosphere of the plant is very different in comparison to many others.  For starters, it is quieter.  That is because the cars put together here aren’t fully automated, it is done by hand by a worker.

“…each worker performs a range of tasks that the company says are comparable to what 150 different workers do at a normal assembly plant.”

The rate that cars are churned out is drastically lower compared to other assembly plants.  Where a normal modern plant is able to get a car off the line every minute, the ones built at the Conner Avenue plant take upwards of 2 and a half hours.

“Over its 20 year history of making Vipers the Conner Avenue plant has produced 24,000 of the cars.  That is a volume that is tiny by almost any measure.  FCA US sold more than 37,000 Ram pickups last month alone.”

The Dodge Viper was never meant to be a large volume seller.  That is what Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis reminds the paper.  One of the biggest appeals of the Viper has been the limited number and the attention to detail paid to it as a result.

This is great news on the cusp of the Viper just getting its newest and fastest version, the Viper ACR.  Check out the rest of the article to see the numerous pictures of the Viper being made.
