The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Takes on the Dodge Hellcat in a Drag Race and the Results Are Not What You’d Expect

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is one of the most powerful vehicles on the market and is a step up from the previous muscle-powered machinery of the Dodge Hellcat.  When people speak about these two muscle-cars, the biggest appeal and talking point is the horsepower.  By all the metrics, the Demon should blow the Hellcat out in a straight up race.  If you’ve ever wanted to see a Demon vs Hellcat, Autoweek has the video for you.

They highlight a new video that shows the Demon taking on two different Hellcats.  The surprising part is that the Demon struggles to keep up with the Hellcats.  It is one of those times when the numbers might be in the favor of the Challenger SRT Demon, but that doesn’t mean the drivers are evenly matched, which could explain the races showcased.

The 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise started off with a blast and has been more successful than ever.  More than 10,000 auto enthusiasts showed up to make sure the 2015 show was the most memorable yet and to show that they definitely want to see a return of the event in 2016.

One of the coolest competitions was the drag race.  Not only was it a chance for drivers to show off their cars and skill in an old-fashion race, but Dodge had a prize for the ultimate winner in the form of a new 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8.  The winner was Brandon Philips with his 1969 Dodge Super Bee.

The other major race event was Richard Rawling’s Gas Monkey Garage vs Roadkill’s “General Mayhem.”  The two competed in a drag race to see whose supped up car was the best.  Rawlings brought a customized 1967 Dodge Dart with a Hellcat powertrain inside.  Roadkill brought a 1968 Dodge Charger, also with a Hellcat powertrain.  The ultimate winner was Gas Monkey’s Dart making me wish to see a Dodge Dart Hellcat in the near future.

People who attended the show definitely got to see all kinds of celebrations of cars.  They were given the change to take rides in the new SRT Hellcats as well as new Dodge Vipers.  It is certainly a show to remember.

2013 SRT Viper is a Beast on the Track

The SRT Viper is a beauty to watch perform. Watching it burn out on a race-track is simply tantalizing. It shows off all the raw power the Viper has.

TFLcar wanted to see a different side to the Viper. They took the super car out to the Sonoma Raceway in Northern California. It also happened to be in the middle of a rain downpour. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, they even switched off the traction control. The result was recorded in a raw and unedited video that they uploaded to Youtube. Take a look for yourself:

I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be the passenger during those drifts. There seemed to be a combination of fear and adrenaline when her glazed-over eyes peaked out from the passenger seat.

In other news, the Viper also managed to do another incredible thing on the track. In an incredible feat that is a testament to the quality behind its design, the Viper managed to complete a quarter mile in just 11.1 seconds! Drag Time put that video on Youtube as well for people to marvel and drool over.
