SRT Viper Getting New Stryker Green Color

bilde

The Viper is getting a new paint job to be shown off for the first time at the North American International Auto Show.

Chrysler announced today that the new 2014 SRT Viper will be taking on a new color.  Oddly enough, for a vehicle named after a deadly snake, it has taken this long for green to be on the list of available colors.  The new “Stryker Green” color is a tribute to the popular “Snakeskin Green” that the Viper had back in 2008.

A new color isn’t the only new offer for the SRT Viper.  Chrysler will also have a new Grand Touring package to choose from.  Included in the package will be Nappa leather seats, a five-mode electronic stability control, and two-mode Bilstein Damp Tronic Select suspension.  The Grand Touring package will only be available with the new Stryker Green color and Venom Black.

90% of SRT Viper Pre-Orders are for the Viper GTS

srt-viper-gal-084There’s one thing to be said about people who purchase a Viper, they don’t skimp on the cost.  That way I see it, it makes sense.  Why would you purchase a high-class speed-demon like the SRT Viper if you weren’t going willing to invest in getting the best there was?

Most car purchasers don’t think that way though.  Most buyers, especially early adopters, tend to play it safe and go with just the base model.  SRT is reporting that Viper pre-orders show a rare occurrence.  Buyers are more interested in driving off the lot in the GTS trim than the base model.  90 percent of the orders placed to be more exact.

I can’t say I blame the buyers.  For a $23k difference in price, there’s a sweet host of features that give an extra sense of luxury.  Features such as Sabelt seats with Nappa leather that come in three different colors, advanced suspension and stability control systems, SRT designed leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the Uconnect system complete with voice command.

It’s clear that people who purchase and who drive a Viper just won’t settle for second best.
