SRT Viper: Car of the Future

Trying to figure out what will be remembered in the future is a tough thing to do.  What is popular now may merely be a speck of a memory come a decade or more down the road.  Think of Oscar winners of the past, there are many that won ‘Best Picture’ but are vaguely remembered today.  So as far as cars are concerned, what will be a collectible in the future?  The National Automotive History Collection (NAHC) thinks they know what it will be, and they chose the SRT Viper as its ‘Collectible Car of the Future.’

This is something the group does on an annual basis.  They choose a vehicle built in the US that were put out in the previous calendar year.  Out of 19 all-new vehicles to choose from in 2013, the SRT Viper won out.

According to Charles K. Hyde, president of the NAHC Board of Trustees, “We ask our members to predict which of the year’s new vehicles will command the highest attention at Detroit’s famous Woodward Dream Cruise 25 years from now.  Car enthusiast select this award, making it unique among vehicle-of-the-year awards.”

This is now the third time that the Viper has been awarded this from NAHC.  The NAHC is the world’s largest public archive of automotive information.

300 SRT Vapor Edition

2014-Chrysler-300-SRT-Satin-Vapor-Edition

The Chrysler 300 SRT Satin Vapor Edition will come with 20-by-9-inch forged aluminum split five-spoke wheels with a Black Satin Vapor Chrome Finish. The mirrors and the spoiler will come in Satin Black as well as the 300 SRT’s roof. The exterior of the vehicle will feature the HEMI badge in grey. The color options that available for the 300 Satin Vapor Edition is Bright White, Billet Silver, and Granite Crystal. There’s an additional black body stripe for the drivers really wanting to spruce out their vehicle.

Inside of the 300 SRT Vapor Edition, the quality continues. The black Nappa leather seats have Ultra-suede inserts. The instrument panels, door bezels, and center console are decked out with piano black accents.

The engine for the 300 SRT Vapor is a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8. The HEMI is capable of deliverying 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the standard Fuel Saver Technology, the 300 SRT Vapor is able to get 23 mpg on the highway.

The MSRP of the 300 SRT Satin Vapor Edition package is $2,300.

SRT Satin Vapor Editions Announced!

CHRYSLER GROUP LLC SATIN VAPOR SRT

The Chrysler 200 may have stole the talk of the Detroit Auto Show, but that doesn’t mean that other brands didn’t bring along something to really talk about. Take SRT for example, they’ve been doing well with making sure the word is out on the quality of their new SRT Viper. SRT is spreading the love around and drawing attention to the other vehicles in their line-up with a new announcement at the auto show.

SRT is producing the Satin Vapor Edition models for the Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, and Dodge Charger. The new models will be concentrating on delivering high quality luxury while maintaining the high quality performance associated with SRT products.

“We’re responding to the diversifying tastes of our performance enthusiast customers by expanding our product lineup to offer more custom models straight from the factory,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC. “Building on our core vehicle strategy, the Satin Vapor Edition models add some swagger with new, brand exclusive finishes and content that augment the value proposition of our popular ‘Core’ price classes.”

The three satin models will be offering plenty of choices in features and colors.  In the coming weeks, we’ll be breaking down each individual model for what the Satin models will have and be offering.
