SRT Viper: Too Powerful for Motor Trend?

Motor Trend has got the President of SRT Ralph Giles mad. Angry enough to call them out on twitter concerning their fear of the Viper.

Jalopnik is covering a minor feud that erupted over Motor Trend’s comparison driver between the SRT Viper and the Corvette ZR1. In the end, the magazine gave the win to the Corvette which Giles took to twitter to voice his opinion. He doesn’t feel that the car failed to win, but the person behind the wheel.

The first tweet reads, “There’s is a lot more left in the car, Randy has always struggled with the Viper.” Jalopnik seems to take the middle ground, seeing the perspective of both parties involved. They admire Randy Probst’s skills of driving, but at the same time feel that Gile’s is correct in calling them out for not unleashing the maximum potential of the Viper. In the past, Motor Trend has labeled the Viper as scary and hard to handle.

It’s a question of if that is what drivers want in the Viper, raw power that is scary to even handle. When you sit behind the wheel of one, it’s hard to deny here’s an allure that the SRT has always had to it, and drivers are certainly expecting and wanting that when they drive a Viper.

SRT Viper: Best Sports Car Ever Built!

Scott Burgess over at Aol Autos got his hands on the new SRT Viper and had some thoughts to share on the newly re-introduced super car.

Before you move forward, one must look back at the road traveled.  This is very true with the Viper.  It had earned renowned as a monster of raw energy back in its prime.  This allows the writer to vent on his gripes with the original.  Even though the classic was a fantastic drive, it was a pain to control.  That doesn’t happen to be the case any longer.

Burgess heaps the praise on for the new Viper, going as far as not to only call it the best car that Chrysler has put together, but also one of the best sports car ever built.

The picture painted on the whole of the Viper is quite clear, that raw power is no longer a power thanks to the engineers over at SRT.  Improvements were made with purpose and never forget the pedigree that made Viper such a name to begin with.

As many other reviewers have made mention of, the interior seems to be the place of highest upgrade.  No longer does a drive have to fear burn marks on their legs while in cramped quarters.  The leather surfaces give a “smell like money when you sit down.”

Read the full review and see just why Burgess was so thoroughly impressed.  If you’re fired up to take the SRT Viper for a spin, contact us at Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge.  Like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter as well, for more news on the Viper and other SRT products.
