SRT 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Prototype Spotted!

Give any American a smartphone and they have the chance to capture the next great thing when they least expect it. Such is the case in Death Valley California where one lucky person got a glimpse, and the photographic evidence to back it up, of SRT’s latest treat out for a test drive. Based on the look, the car world believes this to be the Hellcat prototype of the SRT’s outing with the Dodge Challenger.

Ralph Gilles said awhile ago that his SRT team was putting together the competition for the newly revealed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. While he was vague on the how, he did let it slip that it was the Dodge Challenger being worked on. The vehicle was codenamed Hellcat, would be home to a supercharged Hemi V-8.

Motor Authority breaks down much of the news and speculation going into the Hellcat Challenger and also shows that this will be the last time for the current HEMI V-8 design.

Their evaluation of the photos taken of the presumed Hellcat Challenger prototype show a new lower air-intake design that would get more air to the engine to help keep it cooler. Also new are the mufflers at the back of the car. The writer makes note of a new rear bumper but clarifies that it is only temporary and the final production version should be different.

SRT has been on a roll of late with their popular Viper and the rest of the catalog filling out. While the Hellcat prototype of the SRT Dodge Challenger hasn’t been officially named yet, it’s only a matter of time now that people have a good idea of what to expect of the finished version.

Watch This Amazing Video of a 2013 Viper GTS Being Delivered

srt-viper-gal-023Here’s a wonderful thing to wake up to.  Imagine that it’s a bright and sunny day out.  You get up and through your morning routine until there’s a knock at the door.  Outside is a delivery man with a large trailer in your driveway.  Inside is the car of your dreams waiting to be unwrapped.

That’s the fantasy, but someone did get to experience something similar.  A man by the name of Brian Zuk uploaded a video to his YouTube page that shows, with exuberant glory, the delivery of a 2013 SRT Viper GTS.

He labeled the video as the “First US Delivery” even though that shouldn’t be the case.  The honor of being the first went to the person who won the $300,000 auction and was handed the keys the head-honcho of SRT Ralph Gilles.

Still, the matter of who was first doesn’t matter.  What does is how amazing it is to see.  Give the video a watch and see how simply cool it looks to have a SRT Viper delivered to your doorstep.

Enterprise Adds 2013 SRT Viper to Exotic Car Collection

UntitledWhenever I need to head out of time for whatever reasons, I always need to rent a car. I typically try to get something smaller and with a large tank of gas. Typically it’s just a nice coupe. I can’t imagine what it would be like to head up to the rental desk, ask for a car and be guided to a 2013 SRT Viper in the parking lot while the attendants asks me to sign my name on the clip-board.

Some lucky drivers in Southern California will be getting that absurd chance. Enterprise bought themselves a nice red Viper to go in their Exotic Car Collection. Decked out with a black leather interior, it’s one of an extremely-limited number that were built and sold. That means whoever gets the chance to drive away is not only renting a Viper, but also getting a one-of-a-kind Viper.

Needless to say, and un-surprisingly so, Chrysler is pretty happy that Enterprise added this supercar to their fleet. “We are thrilled that Enterprise is adding our SRT Viper to its Exotic Car Collection, allowing renters to make that special event even more special or enjoy their vacation in style in our hand-built-in-Detroit, flagship supercar, “ said Jim Sassorossi, Director of Fleet Sales for the Chrysler Group. “We know this will also be an excellent way for potential buyers to get a first-hand driving experience with our high-performance sports car.”
