Get Ready for the Rebirth of the Dodge Demon!

The Dodge Demon is coming back from the dead.  This reanimated muscle car will be what puts the Hellcat to shame.

At the New York International Auto Show in April, Dodge will be showing off their latest and greatest muscle car to date; the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.  The challenger for the Demon’s return is to see if it can top the already massively impressive Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat.  That’s quite the feat for Dodge to attempt.

“Most cars attempt to be everything to everybody.  Then there are the rare few that revel in a single objective, rending them totally irresistible to subculture,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands for FCA North American in a statement.  “The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is conceived, designed and engineered for a subculture of enthusiast who know that a tenth is a car and a half second is your reputation.”

In the upcoming days and weeks, Dodge will be teasing out glimpses of the Demon.  The first is n their new website dedicated to the Demon reveal, www.ifyouknowyouknow.com.  The first is a video called “Cage” which is a tease of things to come.

The 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show is one of the most exciting shows to look forward to for car fans.  Every year, Mopar has rolled out several modified vehicles to show off to the car world at the SEMA show.  What is coming for this year’s show?  Mopar is being mean and has released some teaser images for what will be shown at SEMA 2016.

The SEMA 2016 show will be taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center November 1st thru the 4th.  Fiat-Chrysler and Mopar will have a live webcast of their press event on November 1st when they lift the curtain on their SEMA 2016 Mopar vehicles.

The teases Mopar released hint at some killer modified vehicles they have planned for this year.  The teases show a Dodge Challenger, Chrysler Pacifica, a Jeep Wrangler, and a Ram Power Wagon.  The Dodge Challenger looks incredibly sinister with the black paint job and the cool line decals wrapping around the engine vent on the hood.  Mopar’s modifications on Wrangler is always fun and the sketch certainly shows a unique design for the roof and a traditional hood.  Being the 75th anniversary of Jeep, I’m sure Mopar has something special planned for the Wrangler to celebrate.  Lastly, the Pacifica may be the most interesting just to see what Mopar can do with such a popular new minivan.

New Chrysler 300 SRT Not Coming to US

IMG_9848

Some sad news for SRT fans, the new Chrysler 300 is not going to be coming state-side.

A recently refreshed Chrysler 300 SRT is not coming to US dealerships according to Fiat-Chrysler.  They’ve been working hard to get the SRT brand integrated into Dodge and have it be associated with a new level of performance.  If you take a look at the recent slew of SRT and Dodge products, such as the Viper TA, and the Challenger and Charger Hellcats, this seems to be the idea that Dodge is aiming for.

Sadly, the 300 SRT doesn’t meet what FCA wants associated with the brand in the states.  The demand for the 300 SRT has remained low in comparison to the other vehicles.  That means this new 300 SRT will only see the light of day in Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and New Zealand.

It makes me wonder if FCA is holding off on the 300 SRT until the 300’s new facelift comes along in the next few years.  For the time being, Dodge and SRT seem to be concentrating their efforts on getting the Hellcats out to the US public where it is in high demand.  The next major release appears to be the Jeep Hellcat.  Time will tell if the 300 SRT comes to the US.
