SRT Satin Vapor Editions Announced!

CHRYSLER GROUP LLC SATIN VAPOR SRT

The Chrysler 200 may have stole the talk of the Detroit Auto Show, but that doesn’t mean that other brands didn’t bring along something to really talk about. Take SRT for example, they’ve been doing well with making sure the word is out on the quality of their new SRT Viper. SRT is spreading the love around and drawing attention to the other vehicles in their line-up with a new announcement at the auto show.

SRT is producing the Satin Vapor Edition models for the Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, and Dodge Charger. The new models will be concentrating on delivering high quality luxury while maintaining the high quality performance associated with SRT products.

“We’re responding to the diversifying tastes of our performance enthusiast customers by expanding our product lineup to offer more custom models straight from the factory,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC. “Building on our core vehicle strategy, the Satin Vapor Edition models add some swagger with new, brand exclusive finishes and content that augment the value proposition of our popular ‘Core’ price classes.”

The three satin models will be offering plenty of choices in features and colors.  In the coming weeks, we’ll be breaking down each individual model for what the Satin models will have and be offering.

SRT Viper’s New Anodized Carbon Special Edition

SRT refuses to not make the new Viper more appealing.

The power and speed may be enough to bring you over on the side of the reborn SRT Viper, but that doesn’t mean drivers shouldn’t look the best while speeding down the roads.  Even if you’re going to be just a blur, you may as well be a colorful blur.  SRT has announced a new package for the Viper and included in that deal is a whole new color.

The Anodized Carbon Special Edition package for the SRT Viper GTS includes new five-spoke wheels dubbed “Rattler” wheels decked out in Black Viper Chrome, Gloss Black GTS badge, Satin Black exhaust bezel, and Anodized Carbon fuel filler door.

The most noticeable feature of the package, however, is the first thing the eye catches.  A new color, a metallic matte exterior, is also included.

“We’ve been waiting for the right time to use this striking new exterior color at the Chrysler Group and as the flagship for the SRT brand, the Viper is the perfect vehicle to showcase this combination of finishes and details to create such a unique look,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO of SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group, LLC. “The Viper’s unique, handbuilt and hand-painted process allow us to create these ultra-exclusive special series builds. At SRT, the art of the American exotic supercar is every bit as important as its performance, and this car is for the enthusiasts who feel that way too.”

The Anodized Carbon Special Edition Package for the SRT Viper GTS will begin in January 2014 and be limited to a production run of only 50 models.

SRT Adds New Colors and Rain Mode to the SRT Viper

The 2014 SRT Viper has been adding a lot of upgrades already.  This one, as far as major changes go, is quite minor in the long run and is meant more to appeal to aesthetic demand than to power.

The Viper is getting a series of additional color choices for aspiring racer to get.  The first of three is the Billet Silver which is based on the popular look for the SRT Viper GTS-R racer.  Next up is the GTS-R Blue, my personal favorite, and it matches the color that is on the roof of the Viper GTS-R.  Finishing off the list of new colors is the Anodized Carbon Special Edition.  That’s just a very long and special way of saying matte black.

Color isn’t the only thing being added to the SRT Viper, however.  A new traction control feature is being included in future models as well.  This new mode is being called “Rain Mode” and is designed for the the purpose of its namesake, having better control in the rain.  It is to help drivers handle the supercar under slippery road conditions in an effort to help protect drivers who fulfilled a fantasy of driving a Viper.

With this extra addition, it’s clear that SRT is making sure that the Viper is just as notorious for safety as it is for speed and look.
