Company Offers a Chance to Drive a Challenger SRT8

cl13-01Need a break from the congestion of the city’s streets?  Just want to go somewhere to drive your frustrations away?  The American Muscle Car Driving Experience may have the answer.

Launching April 1, the organization will be offering people a one of a kind experience in the Red Rock Canyon-area.  Buyers get 30 miles of desert and a host of muscle cars to push to the limit.  One of said vehicles includes the powerful Dodge Challenger SRT8.

For $299, drivers get access to three cars, including the Challenger SRT8, and a 30 mile stretch of desert.  For $399 that length gets boosted up to 50 miles and an additional car to choose from.

As far as vacations go, that one sounds pretty awesome.  Get a chance to unleash a muscle car on a desert road and feed that inner speed demon, what’s not to love?  A great way for the average person to get to try their hands on some of the best cars that, more likely than not, they’d never get a chance to.

Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge offers the Queens Area top quality customer service, whether you’re looking to drive home in your own Challenger SRT or just need maintenance on your current car.  Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for more SRT updates and for monthly special offers.

New SRT Viper ACR Expected in 2014

250429The new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is seen as a serious threat to the 2013 SRT Viper.  Numerous comparisons have been made and not all have been favorable for SRT.  With that being the case, many have expected the brand to step up and answer the challenge with a newer version.  Ralph Gilles, CEO of SRT, has being teasing of late of such.  Motortrend has broken the news that it looks like a new Viper is right around the corner.

The SRT Viper ACR is expected to make its debut sometime next year in 2014.  All that is really known for certain at the moment is that it is in fact in development.  The reason for the long wait is an odd reason though.  Seems the tires are the issue.  SRT was surprised how well the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires turned out for the new Corvette and want to get Pirelli, their supplier, to produce a superior tire than they already have on the Viper.

According to the inside sources that Motortrend was speaking with; tires aren’t the only major upgrade coming.  The brakes will be larger and there will be adjustable dampers.  Other improvements will impact the aerodynamics such as splitters and wings and anti-roll bars as well as a lower ride height.  More will be done to get the weight of the vehicle down.

There’s not much else to report on.  The power-train remains a mystery at this time.

Fans of the new Viper afraid of the new Corvette shouldn’t worry.  SRT is working hard to make sure they are not out done this year.

2013 SRT Viper is Putting the Top Down

UntitledThere’s good news and bad news concerning the 2013 SRT Viper. The good news is that drivers are loving it. That, however, leads into the the bad news, though, unfortunately is that they are sold out. All 800 units of the super car have been purchased (3 of which we know went to Jay Leno).

If you’re in the market for purchasing the new Viper, don’t fret. The company has made it quite clear that they intend to have more available as soon as possible. Chrysler is looking to have about another 700 ready for pre-order in the near future.

That’s not the only news nugget out about the new Viper. With the release of the vehicle completed, it’s time to ask, “What’s next?” In this case, what comes next is bring the roof down, literally.

Ralph Gilles, the CEO of SRT Brand, has started talking about the desire to turn the 2013 SRT Viper into a convertible. As he put it, “The car is designed to be a convertible. Under the skin is a convertible chassis. It’s already there- the stiffness is there. It’s extremely easy should that come, but we’re not in any rush.”

Currently, Chrysler is predicting that a convertible version won’t be out until around 2015. Gilles doesn’t see this as the next step of the vehicle, more like just an additional version of the car.
