Dodge Introduces New 2016 Viper ACR

2016 Dodge Viper ACR

Dodge can’t help themselves when it comes to building cars with massive amounts of power and speed.  Just look at how much buzz the Hellcats generated when they put out the horsepower on those babies.  Not to be shown up at the game it started, the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is now a thing and it is claiming to be the ‘Fastest Street-Viper.’

The Dodge Viper was always intended to be a supercar.  Now it just has to work a little harder to keep that title with other vehicles now competing against it.  That is where the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR comes in.

Tim Kuniskis, Dodge’s President and CEO, presented it during a tour of the FCA’s Conner Avenue Assembly Plant where the Viper is produced.  According to him, the Viper ACR is the fastest car they’ve made in the history of the company.

To pull off that incredible feat, they added new and improved aerodynamics to the Viper as well as used lightweight materials like thin carbon fiber and an aluminum body.  This helps the Viper ACR achieve a top speed of 177 mph. That is technically lower that the SRT Viper’s speed of 204 mph, but Dodge says that with the added downforce of the ACR’s aerodynamics, the ACR will be able to blaze past the other Vipers.

It is exciting to see the Dodge brand really taking their new mission statement of producing the top-level vehicles for the Fiat-Chrysler family.  The new Viper ACR seems to be making certain that Viper lovers don’t feel their supercar is being left behind while the muscle cars battle for supremacy.

Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat Production Number Not Known Yet

Tim Kuniskis, CEO and President of Dodge, wanted to squash a rumor going around about the new Hellcat models of the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger.  According to some, the new models will have a very limited run of only 1,200 cars.  This, quite frankly, is just not true according to Kuniskis.

“That rumor about the 1,200 cars really upset a lot of people,” he is quoted as saying by Mlive.com.  “I want to get as many of the cars out on the road, I want to get as many people talking about Dodge and excited about Dodge as possible.”

The real number as of this time is unknown.  Dodge has not settled on how many of each they plan to make.  The only thing for sure is that the number is not 1,200.

“I don’t know what the life cycle’s going to be,” Kuniskis continued.  “I was very clear when we launched the Challenger: If you missed the first muscle car area, don’t miss this one.  I don’t know how long this could last, so take advantage of it now.”

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is the most powerful sedan ever with 707 horsepower from a HEMI V8 Hellcat engine.  All the styling and comfort of the Charger all tied together to be one of the most powerful rides on the market.

First Production 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat to be Auctioned

15-la-ex-04

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the most powerful and fastest muscle car ever built.  Any muscle car fan has to be drooling in anticipation of a chance to get their hands on and/or try the Challenger SRT for themselves.  On September 27th, Dodge will be giving one lucky person the chance to drive away in a one-of-a-kind Challenger.

The Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas 2014 Auction is happening during September 25th thru the 27th.  On the final day of the auction, Dodge is putting up a special treat: The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.  It will not be just any old Challenger Hellcat, but the first VIN number.  That’s right, a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with the VIN number 0001 could be yours.

“The 2015 Challenger Hellcat is already guaranteed to be one of the hottest cars that will roll through the Barret-Jackson auction lanes in decades to come,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of both Dodge and SRT brands.  “The VIN 0001 being auctioned this year is the ultimate one-of-one collectible 2015 Dodge Challenger, as Dodge is ensuring there will never be another one like it.”

The auctioned off Challenger Hellcat will include plenty of extras indicating how awesome the owner is for having the first Hellcat.  There is a HEMI painted presentation box with a VIN0001 electronic vehicle build book and even a Laguna Leather iPad sleeve.  The buyer even gets a birth certificate for their bouncing, baby Challenger.

An added bonus to the auction is that the bidding and consignment fees will be waived.  That means that however much this Challenger goes for, one hundred percent of the amount will be going to Opportunity Village, a non-profit for the Las Vegas area that benefits individuals with significant intellectual disabilities.

Not only will the lucky winner get to have a one-of-a-kind Challenger SRT, but they get to know the fortune they will be handing over to get it will be going all towards a great cause.  I call that a win-win.

For the rest of us, we will continue to drool over all the pictures and footage of this new muscle car and the intense speeds it can achieve all while whispering “one day?” to anyone in ear reach.  One day 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, one day.
